Convatec Aquacel Ag Plus Extra Dressing (10cm x 10cm), Ref #413567 from ConvaTec is an antimicrobial sterile wound dressing, combining the specifically developed MORE THAN SILVER Technology (Ag+) with the unique capabilities of Hydrofiber Technology to manage the 3 key local barriers to wound healing - exudate, infection and biofilm.

MORE THAN SILVER Technology (Ag+) contains three components; ionic silver together with a surfactant (BEC) and metal chelating agent (EDTA), which work together to deliver superior anti-biofilm performance.

Hydrofiber Technology is a soft, absorbent material that transforms into a gel on contact with wound fluid. This gelling action creates an optimal environment for wound healing.

United in the battle against biofilm : Biofilm is more likely to develop if exudate management is poor. Hydrofiber technology works together with MORE THAN SILVER Technology to absorb and remove wound exudate and disrupted EPS and bacteria, helping to manage wound moisture and support healing.

ConvaTec Aquacel Ag Plus Extra Dressing containing a unique anti-biofilm formulation, is mainly designed to use as a primary antimicrobial dressing for the management of moderately to heavily exuding, chronic and acute wounds that are infected or at risk of infection or where biofilm is suspected to be present, and in accordance with the indications for use.

Indications For Use :

Aquacel Ag Plus Extra Dressing is indicated for management of:

• Wounds as a barrier to bacterial penetration of the dressing as this may help reduce infection
• Wounds where there is an infection or an increased risk of infection
• Leg ulcers including venous stasis ulcers, arterial ulcers and leg ulcers of mixed aetiology
• Pressure ulcers/ injuries
• Diabetic foot ulcers
• Surgical wounds
• Partial thickness burns
• Traumatic wounds
• Malignant wounds
