Coloplast Brava 12037 Protective Seal is designed to provide a secure seal in the gap between the ostomy baseplate (skin barrier/wafer) and the skin around the stoma, helping protect the skin from leakage and stoma output. It is easy to shape and can be applied to fill cavities, folds, dips, and creases in the peristomal skin.

It consists of a new polymer formulation that makes it resistant to the aggressive constituents of stoma output, so it will not disintegrate or break down when exposed to the output.

It helps keep the skin healthy by absorbing moisture such as sweat and oils. Unlike some other rings, this protective seal is easy to remove and leaves minimal adhesive residue, helping keep the skin clean and dry.

Coloplast Brava 12037 Protective Seal has a thickness of 2.5 mm, an inner diameter of 27 mm, and an outer diameter of 57 mm. Its extra-wide size provides a larger adhesive area.

Directions For Use :

How to use

Preparation

1. Before applying Protective Seal, ensure that the skin around the stoma is clean and dry.
2. Remove the product from the blister, and then peel off the protective paper from both sides by holding the removal ears.
3. Mould and stretch the product to the desired shape.

Application

1. Apply Protective Seal to the skin around the stoma. Adjust the shape again if needed. Mould the product with your fingers so that the edge of the product is securely smoothed onto the skin.
2. The product can also be applied on the baseplate before applying both to the skin.
3. If you use a 2-piece ostomy appliance, it is possible to apply Protective Seal directly to the coupling side of the baseplate, to achieve a snug fit around the stoma.
4. Apply the bag as normal.

Removal

1. After usage, gently remove the base plate and Protective Seal from the skin. The product should come off together with the baseplate. However, if there are slight residues left on the skin it does not damage the skin. Nor does it affect adhesion of the next product that is applied.
