Mepilex Border Sacrum (16cm x 20cm) by Molnlycke is a self-adherent soft silicone multi-layer foam dressing specially designed for sacral ulcers.

Mepilex Border Sacrum is a self-adherent, absorbent sacral dressing to be used as part of a prophylactic therapy to prevent pressure ulcers and minimise the risk of maceration. For wound treatment it maintains a moist wound environment. The waterproof outer layer protects from dirt and bacteria. The dressing has a Safetac® wound contact layer that is a proprietary adhesive technology developed by Mölnlycke that minimises pain to patients and trauma to intact skin or wounds at dressing removal.

Moreover, Mepilex Border Sacrum all-in-one dressing is the only five-layer foam sacral dressing with proprietary Deep Defense® Technology – proven to prevent pressure ulcers when used in conjunction with other standard prevention protocols.

The dressing can also be used for managing moderate to high exuding wounds of the sacral area. It has a good fluid handling capacity and retention.

This recently-launched enhanced design includes new handling tabs and thicker borders allowing easier application and patient checking. When used for pressure ulcer prevention, the sacral shape has been refined so you can achieve good coverage of the high-risk sacral area – and it features an improved gluteal seal for maximum protection.

Mepilex Border Sacrum Dressing (16cm x 20cm) has a 120cm2/18.6sq in pad.

Indications for use :

Mepilex Border Sacrum is designed to be part of a prophylactic therapy to prevent skin damage, e.g. pressure ulcers of sacral area and to reduce postoperative blistering.

Mepilex Border is also designed for a wide range of exuding wounds such as pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, foot ulcers, traumatic wounds (e.g. skin tears) and surgical wounds.

Mepilex Border Sacrum can also be used on dry/necrotic wounds in combination with gels.

Instructions for use : 

Mepilex Border Sacrum Dressing should be used by or under the supervision of a qualified health care professional.

Note that local hygiene procedures should be followed prior to and following the dressing change.

Easy application

1. Cleanse the wound and dry the surrounding skin thoroughly. 
2. Remove the first release film and apply the adherent side to the skin.(do not stretch).
3. Remove the remaining release films.
4. Gently smooth each side of border into place.

To Remove :-

1. Gently lift one corner and slowly peel dressing back.
