Mepilex Border Sacrum Ag Dressing (18cm x 18cm) by Molnlycke is a self-adherent antimicrobial soft silicone foam dressing specially designed for sacral ulcers.

Mepilex Border Sacrum Ag Dressing consists of a Safetac® soft silicone wound contact layer, an absorbent polyurethane foam pad containing silver sulphate and coloured by activated carbon, a layer with super absorbent fibres, a non-woven and a breathable and water proof film.

Safetac® is a proprietary adhesive technology developed by Mölnlycke that minimises pain to patients and trauma to intact skin or wounds.

Mepilex Border Sacrum Ag is a soft silicone foam dressing that absorbs exudate, maintains a moist wound healing environment and has antimicrobial properties.

Mepilex Border Sacrum Ag contains silver sulphate (1.2 mg Ag/cm2) to create an effective bacterial barrier and inactivate a wide range of wound related pathogens (bacteria and fungi), as shown in vitro. By reducing the number of micro-organisms, Mepilex Border Sacrum Ag may also reduce odour. 

Mepilex Border Sacrum Ag silver foam dressing has been shown to inactivate wound related pathogens up to 7 days in vitro.

Mepilex Border Sacrum Ag Dressing (18cm x 18cm) has a 120cm2/19sq in pad.

Indications for use :

Mepilex Sacrum Ag antimicrobial bordered foam dressing is specifically shaped to fit the sacral area. It can be used as a primary dressing on shallow wounds or as a cover dressing for deeper wounds. Ideal for medium- to high-exuding sacral wounds – for when you need an all-in-one dressing with an antimicrobial action to reduce bioburden in the wound. Mepilex® Border Sacrum Ag may be used as part of a prophylactic therapy to help prevent skin damage, e.g. pressure ulcers.

Instructions for use : 

Mepilex Border Sacrum Ag Dressing should be used by or under the supervision of a qualified health care professional.

Note that local hygiene procedures should be followed prior to and following the dressing change.

3-part release system for easy application

1. Cleanse the wound and dry the surrounding skin thoroughly. Remove the centre release film.
2. Apply the adherent side to the wound (do not stretch).
3. Remove the side release films.
4. Gently smooth each side into place.

To Remove :-

1. Gently lift one corner and slowly peel dressing back.

Each Mepilex Border Sacrum Ag dressing may be left in place for up to 7 days depending on the patient, condition of the wound and surrounding skin, or as indicated by accepted clinical practice.
