PoviSurg Povidone lodine Solution IP 5% is an aqueous solution of Povidone-lodine, this film-forming iodine complex is virtually non-staining to skin and natural fabrics. It is multipurpose microbicidal, kills both gram-positive & gram-negative bacteria, particularly those encountered in skin infections such as Staphylococci, Streptococci, E.Coli Proteus and Pseudomonas Aeruginosa including those resitant to antibiotics.

The microbicidal action of its also extends to fungi, viruses, protozoa,and yeasts.

The microbicidal activity of it is retained in the presence of blood, pus and serum.

INDICATIONS :

1. Antiseptic preparation of skin and mucous membrane prior to surgery.
2. As a microbicidal of choice for disinfection of wounds.
3. Emergency microbicidal treatment of cuts, laceration and abrasions.
4. Burns of 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree.
5. Post-operative dressing to prevent against possible infections.
6. Topical treatment of moniliasis, trichomoniasis and non specific vaginitis.
7. Bacteria and mycotic infections such as pyodermas, otitis, tinea pedis, tinea corporis, tenia versicolor cutaneous candidates.
   

ADMINISTRATION :

• Apply full strength, as paint or wet soak.
